Professional GBOL taxonomists depend on the enthusiastic and active support of qualified citizen scientists to establish a comprehensive library of biodiversity!
In a few simple steps you can become an official GBOL partner:
- Registration as an official taxon expert in GBOL
- Feedback from GBOL staff:
- Introduction to sampling and data recording
- Assistance in obtaining collecting permits
- Allocation of GBOL-sample IDs
- Collection of fresh animal, plant or fungi material in the field
- Conservation and taxonomic classification of the collected material
- Completion of GBOL data collection sheets with relevant additional information (habitat, time, coordinates, taxonomic classification, etc.)
- Upload the data collection sheets (Excel spreadsheet) or fill in the online data form on the GBOL webpage
- Shipment of sample material to the appropriate GBOL institution
